Wind in between feeds - is it normal?

My baby is 4 months old now, and I've honestly forgotten this stage from my firstborn.
He brings up wind intermittently, even 3 hours after his last feed, for example if I sit up upright or pick him up he might bring up and extra burp, he does this multiple times after a feed right up until his next feed. It doesn't always bother him but I worry it builds up throughout the day. Is this normal?! Or should he only really burp after a feed and then be done? We have changed formulas and wondering whether this one also isn't great for him. It's just the burps that are the concern, and sometimes he's really fussy and unsettled in the evening or throughout the night. But during the day the wind doesn't overly bother him.

Mine was like this, still is at 11mo. He used to take in so much air feeding that it felt like I was burping him longer than feeding iyswim. And then he'd still burp lots all day. I think it's just that because their lungs are slowly growing and they yawn alot and breathe fast that extra air is bound to get trapped if they swallow it down. Maybe there's another explanation but that's my opinion on it. Try not to worry but speak to hv/GP if you're really concerned

@Devilsmommy thank you. Did it bother your little one when he was younger? It doesn't always bother mine but for example when putting down for a nap or bedtime he won't settle for quite a while because he will be fussing about and I have to pick him back up and check for more wind and most of the time he has an extra burp, sometimes I end up having to pick him back up multiple times to wind again before he will finally settle 🙈

Yeah he was fine unless like yours trying to nap/sleep. All day it seemed like he was farting and burping but it wasn't hurting him. Also, does your lo yawn alot? They seem to swallow a big gulp of air when yawning which is then trapped in stomach and takes forever to get out🤣 hope she grows out of it soon for you
