EBF 4 month old suddenly hurting nipples

I’ve been feeding my DD exclusively this whole time and even at the start without much pain but suddenly my nipples are feeling a bit more..attacked shall we say. I’m not sure what she’s doing, whether she’s teething and sort of not quite but nearly trying to chew on them, or whether now she’s older she’s just feeding with more tenacity or something. But they seem to be taking a bit more of a beating lately and feel kinda bruised. Anyone else experienced this?

I'm no expert as my DD is only 1 month, but she did have a quick check at the dentist when I went for an appointment and they said babies' teeth can come through from 3 months, so it could be this.

I definitely am not looking forward to that stage!

Have you got cream and cooling pads? I found Lansinoh cream especially helped when I had some soreness when initially feeding.
