just been to dentist again! And he says i have infection. Gave me metronazidale(sp?) and said i was ok to bf. Now read leaflet and it says hv can pass through to milk if taken in large single doses. Only bf a tiny bit at night as ds is two and only takes it for comfort really. Any suggestions? Will it affect him if he has so little?

What dose are you on?

This is the information provided by the national drug information centre: In the UK it's normal to be prescribed 200-400mg three times a day, which is fine for BF. You shouldn't BF if you're on a single dose of 2g.

toxnet.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-bin/sis/search/f?./temp/~u4mV7n:1 gives you details on this.

Hope this helps. You haven't said dosage or how you are taking it, but the link covers all that.

thanks guys. You know the lady at boots said oh you should just probably stop now anyway. I told her it was none of her business how long i bf and just to do her own job and not concern herself with what i was doing with my ds. What is it with people and extended bf!

at boots....worth a letter to the manager???

mehdismummy · 29/02/2008 14:33

she was the manager! Just wanted to say what a fab rock you are to people tik tok. If more people like you were around. More women would bf. I love it. Me and ds love our special time. Its natural and its gonna be hard to stop!

Aw, thanks mehdismummy

I'd suggest a letter to Boots head ofice then! The manager needs a spot of training in customer relations as well as in normal breastfeeding

at the woman in Boots. Comments like that from your family are to be expected (though ignored) but from a complete stranger! How irresponsible!
