Watching with interest because my dentist told me that the anaesthetic wouldn't affect my breastmilk.

mamamtulip, your dentist needs to go back to dental school

www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk/drugline-information-and-factsheets.html has a referenced sheet on dental treatment and breastfeeding.

Honestly, it's really bad of your dentist to scare you like that....

my dentist gave me a local injection + less than he normally would have + i waited till numbness wore off before feeding just in case-less than 2 hours post filling

There is no need to wait....think about it, where does the anaesthetic go? In your gum, yes...and if it travelled anywhere else you'd be numb elsewhere, yes? That's why it's a local anaesthetic, 'cos it doesn't go into your system.

And if it isn;t in your system, it isn't in your milk!
