Ds2 is 6wks.. and so far bf going okish, feel a bit of a 'cheat' in that some nights I give a bottle of formula as a last feed before I get some sleep, maybe I have allowed this to help me mentally but it seems to work for us, allowing both of us a longer stint of sleep, but during the day the feeding has upped again.. I assume this is a growth spurt.. my concern is, is that I have just fed him, sat for over an hour, given both boobs, he fed well.. when he finished he was content etc.. but now he has started the hungry cry again, and I'd love to sit down and feed him right now but got to visit the Drs, leaving in a mo, (so my bet is he will sleep in the car, then I can feed him whilst I wait, as no doubt they will be running late) but my question/concern is.. to what point do I try and do other things over feeding him (if that makes sense)
When a baby is hungry they need feeding, but I am worried about how I make meeting his hungry needs and the things that need doing met.

I think it's because I can't see how much he has had that gets me worried, whereas with a bottle of formula I know he has has fed and can wait awhile before another feed.. I really thought he had just fed well and it was a lengthy time, (I know time can mean nothing in what they get sometimes) but as he cries now, maybe I am wrong.. am I just rubbish at reading my babies cries??

Hi Martha

You're doing really well. Stop fretting for a mo and relish that!

It's a massive leap of faith the BF thing because we're so conditioned to measure things and know exactly what's going on. But you have to trust your body and go with the flow, which you're doing (feeding him when you get to the doc's and so on).

I'm waffling, but does that make sense?
