Weekend away without 16 month DD - how to help us both cope

She still feeds 4 times a day but luckily no at night. I am planning a weekend away without DD and leaving her with DH in a months time.

If I didn't wean her before going would I be fine with just expressing a bit off or will I be in lots of pain. Will she go completely ballastic?

I left her this afternoon with my MIL she tried to get milk off my MIL... . She is completely addicted to boob, to be honest I'm ready to stop but she certainly isn't. I've just suffered a miscarriage and really need some time away.

Thanks for replying (it can feel a it lonely being an extended BFer, the board seems to focus on tiny babies). Will take a pump with me, a cleavage would be nice but not great for a yoga weekend worried about the leakage may well take breast pads as well just in case.

I don't really have much advice but didn't want you to feel lonely - I'm feeding ds at 18 months and I think there are quite a few extended bfers around!

I think at this age you are much less likely to get engorged or leak. I've never left ds for a weekend but we have skipped feeds here and there and I've barely noticed. Probably best to be prepared with the pump and breast pads though.

Like Liege&Lief I don't have constructive advice as haven't left DS (19 months) overnight yet. Have gone 24 hours between feeds due to working late and no problems.

I work 2 days a week and feeding is haphazard on the days that I don't work. My boobs seem to cope and I rarely feel 'full'.
