I am jaundiced and have been unwell for a few weeks. The Doctor suspected gall stones but none showed up on scanning. I have now had blood tests for Hepatitis . My lo is 6 months old and the Doctor said I should give up BF ! I am not ready to give up yet and wondered if TIKTOK or any other MNetters know whether I can continue or whether it is definitely too risky for my baby.

Get a second opinion!

I have checked in my sources and there is no risk to your baby at all....and it may be your doc thinks you need to stop bf for your own health.

This Scottish website www.babyfeedingmatters.co.uk run by NHS healthcare professionals says no reasons to stop bf (click through to Infections to find this out).
