Hello everyone, I have been researching for days on all possible websites/forums how likely it is that introducing a dummy affects breastfeeding. Most people says go ahead but my boy has a mild case of posterior tongue tie that due to the position can't be released and (have been told by the lactation consultant who did the visit and who would have made the cut if was in a different position) I have to wait for him to grow and will solve itself. This means that sometimes breastfeeding hurts because he struggles to latch properly, and I'm afraid to make it worse using a dummy!
I made another post on this group before having my appointment with the LC, I had very helpful insights from you so I thought to ask here , I mean to introduce a dummy because he suffer from reflux and I hope sucking a dummy after feeding can help him, also I have read that a dummy reduce risk of Sids.
I was considering the nanobebe as they say is the less likely to cause nipple confusion?! I don't know if maybe it's just a marketing technique and actually is no better than any other! I'm not really found of dummies, I love to see his face without that thing in the mouth but I also want him to be fine and relaxed so if it would help him relax I feel i should give it a try.
