Is it ok to go Baby Cafe 4 purely social reasons?

Sorry if this sounds dim. I AM breastfeeding, btw.

It's kind of uncommon around here, though, so would b nice 2 meet other mums who do bfd. But I dont have any problems or questions, I just thought it might be a place 2 meet people.

Is there any structure 2 baby cafes, do u just turn up, have a cuppa & work up courage 2 talk 2 strangers?

Thats exacly why me and 13 month old DS2 go, so I hope it's OK!

No structure at ours except when they are running additional classes on weaning, sleep, massage etc.

I love going, have made some firm friends and feel like I have supported new mums too. Majority of BF mums at ours are 'regulars' who meet to have a cuppa and chat, and there are always at least 6 new mums who are having varying problems, who come to see one of the BFC.

And it's also nice to talk to other mums with older babies about differnt BF issues like biting or feeding strikes and how to get them to stop!

but isn't that why going to a bf cafe is good? to show how normal it can be and to pass on any useful bits by the by.

is there usually a coordinator who greets u & maybe introduces u 2 others? Dunno y, but I feel like such a plonker if I just turn up!
