MAM teat too slow, one up too fast

Hi there, as the title says I'm currently on size 2 MAM teats for my 11 week old, the last couple of weeks she's only been taking half her normal amount before falling asleep or wanting a 15 minute break.
I know she's still hungry as she'll be looking for it again when put on her playmat, but will take a while to accept it back.

We tried going to size 3 for the last 5 days but she just can't handle the flow even when trying to pace her, it just dribbles out, she chokes or pulls off suddenly, the feed will be done in 4 minutes which seems a bit too quick. Even with lowering the bottle a bit she drinks too fast, she likes her milk and soon gets upset if I toy with it or take it out her mouth too much to slow it down.

I've seen people suggest the X teat or making a hole in size 2, I'm just wondering what to expect with the X teat as it says super fast for 6 months+, she's already struggling with size 3 so wouldn't the X be too much for a 2 month old?

X teats are controlled by the baby. So the harder the suck the more comes out. The softer the suck less comes out. DD was a lazy feeder and we used X teats and she just drank as she pleased. It worked for us and she had them around 4 weeks old and up.

Hi, did you find a solution to this? My little boy is exactly the same - 11 weeks, always falling asleep and can take the full hour to finish a bottle using 2 teats but 3 teats are just making him cry!

Hiya yes I did! So my baby girl needs carobel to thicken the breastmilk and we did end up using the X teat, it took her a while to get used to it but that was what worked for us in the end and she still uses the X teat now at 6 months

My 6.5 month is currently using size 2 MAM teat but is starting to take almost and hour every feed, getting bored or falling asleep on them. I have tried her with a size 3 but she then acts traumatised and then refuses the milk completely no matter what size or brand teat. Has anyone else experienced this with there baby
