Teats ?? Bottles

Hi all. I want to pump and breastfeed so want to get my newborn on the bottle from day 1. I've heard some bottles agree with certain babies differently. So what do you do!?? Buy a few of each? Or just buy one type and test it then order the other?

How do teats work ? Do different brand bottles use different ones and what do you change the teats depending on?

Thank you - so many questions but I don't know where to start

I would have a look at what's available and buy 6 of one kind to begin with. You will need enough so you aren't washing and sterilising every 10 minutes. I think most babies are fine with any bottle but you only know by trying then changing if need be.
Tommee tippee seems most popular. I used Mam brand because a midwife recommended them to me. They have ass bottles and also plastic ones that can be sterilised in microwave.
All the brands promise different things with their teats and have different shapes but I really don't think any are universally better than others.
The other thing to watch for is the flow rate of the teat.choose the slowest flow to begin with. It's also OK to just stick with slow flow teats. The brands give recommendations of ages to change teats but if baby is happy it is just another way to get you to buy stuff. My eldest preferred fast flow as he got older but my youngest stayed on fast flow until she stopped taking bottles.

I would but a few and see which one the baby takes to some teats are close to a nipple as possible so it's whichever one your baby thinks is most like your nipple I heard the MAM ones are good

If you baby has a dummy too try and get a teat with the same nib because you don't want you baby getting confused between your nipple dummy and bottle teat

One called The Teatle keeps popping up on my Facebook ( no idea why because my DC are 20 and 23!) but they look good.

Would you not just use the bottles that come with the pump. I pumped straight into bottles and then put the test etc on. I don’t think it really matters what bottles you buy most babies will take any unless you have a fussy one. I think it’s just better not to keep changing just stick to one and if you have problems with feeding try another. You don’t have to get them all now, you can always buy after.
