who would you train with to be a BFC?

I am thinking that I would quite like to train as a breastfeeding counsellor. But don't know who to train with. is there much difference?
Have got all the info from NCT and ABM. LLL seem to only offer peer supporter training info on their website, but will e-mail them as well.

any thoughts?

I'm training with BfN but only for peer support atm. You can go on to be a counsellor though.

The training so far has been great - very in depth and covers everything you need to know. I've learnt so much even though I BF my own two for a total of 39 months!

I enquired through the NCT. They will pay for your long-distance learning HND but you have to commit to them for 2 years afterwards, which I can't do as we may emigrate.

I'm training with the NHS, our local PCT is getting really into breastfeeding and is sending peer supporters into homes, three times a week for as long as they are needed.

I'd thought about training with LLL as I think that more people there is specific support out there than they do that they can get it from the NHS if their GP or HV or MW know. Not sure how that would work though as I will be being paid by one group to do it. Gah, I'm tired so probably waffling and have no idea if that made sense.

i volunteer with the nct in part because they are not ashamed to provide custard creams...

Maybe we need a seperate thread to talk about all things BFC?
