My little one has been on neocate for about a month now due to suspected CMPA, he didn’t have any major symptoms to begin with just things like silent reflux, eczema and constipation. The dietician said we can try milk challenge to see if it’s a true allergy, he’s been doing really well on neocate once he decided to take it (tastes awful)
anyway I gave him some comfort milk as thought it would be best to give something with reduced lactose and partially hydrolysed to not overload his digestive system. We have also started weaning and doing first tastes but now he’s he has very loose mucus filled nappies the past two days with undigested food and milk particles. He’s been passing stool anywhere between 4/5 times a day when he usually goes every 2 days.
He has also been teething with red cheeks and ALOT of drool which I know can lead to mucous poos
Also on top of that my toddler caught a bug from nursery which gave her a bit of diarrhoea so my baby’s mucus filled stools could be from anything!
should I just stop with the cows milk formula and weaning for now and just have him on the neocate for a few days to let his digestive system reset a bit. I think I will then continue weaning but maybe lay off the cows milk formula until we’ve established weaning
any thoughts on if that’s the best approach?
