Cows milks allergy and BF!

I want to thank everyone on my last post... little DD now has formula dairy free milk. GP told me not to BF her until I'm totally "dairy free" and told me that could be up to two weeks.

I'm pumping and freezing (to donate the milk) but my supply has done to the pits as she's not latching on. When can she latch on again? :-( I haven't had dairy for about 5 days now.

I had a quick read of your previous thread but perhaps I missed something. You said baby never has a reaction after boob feed, only after formula, so why does GP think you shouldn't breastfeed? Did they give an explanation? I think the advice you have been given is poor. Many more babies react to formula than trace cows milk protein in breast milk so the more sensible thing would be to cut dairy and soy from your diet, breastfeed as much as you can to increase supply and use prescription formula as you need to/want to. Pumps typically are not as effective as baby in draining breast so it is not surprising you are noticing your supply reducing.

I would wait 2-3 weeks before breastfeeding again, as if there's any dairy still in your system when she next breastfeeds, then it will take 2-3 weeks to get back out of hers again.
I had to pump and dump for a couple of weeks while on medication that wasn't breastfeeding compatible and my supply was absolutely fine and baby got the hang of latching again very quickly. 🤞for you and your daughter it will be the same.
I didn't see your original post, so sorry if you're already aware, but lots of CMPA babies also don't get on with soya. I had to give that up as well as dairy (a nightmare as is in everything).
