Hello everyone!

Been offline for ages while sorting out (for which read trying not to sic Gene Hunt on Sky) my broadband and moving house. Have now done both so can MN to my hearts content soon... (when my curtains are made - too damn busy to get on much till then!)

But just wanted to go yay! to myself as exclusively fed my DS3 now up till today and it just struck me he's 6 months AKA 26 weeks today!!!

Gonna start some BLweaning type stuff soon (when can be arsed to see if Junior wants to sit in the Tripp Trapp, after actually finding it in one of the many piles of just moved stuff...)

But TBH loving breastfeeding so much this time round and it's so damned easy (now, after LOTS of struggling) and convenient, and god I really can't face going on to smelly poos after so much sweet smelling BF poo, that I might just postpone it till he grabs my toast out of my hand.

And just to big myself up a teeny tiny bit more, he was a whopping 9 lbs 7 so sniffing in the direction of MIL and HV who both said oooh you'll never get to 6m with that size baby...

mehdismummy · 15/02/2008 18:49

well done. Keep up the good work.

VictorianSqualor · 15/02/2008 19:02

Well done MB, I did wonder where you ahd been actually.

Monkeybird · 15/02/2008 19:18

grouphug - I've got no blardy idea what he weighs now since never bother with the scales but no, indeed i did mean 9lbs7 at birth!

God he's probably about 5 stone now he's such a little chubster all on my own home brew!!!

oh at birth lol I though you meant now. Mine weighs 151b she is little but is a milk monster. Don't you have to go to weigh in? I hate going the HV always gives me rubbish advice recommending I give up night feeds now she is 6 months!!!

TheOldestCat · 15/02/2008 19:59

Congratulations, monkeybird!

VictorianSqualor · 16/02/2008 10:22

grouphug, you don't have to go to weigh in, it's down to you, if you feel baby is doing well and thriving then don't go, it's just with a lot of people it can help flag up any problems with baby not gaining weight etc.

Caz10 · 16/02/2008 10:40

congrats monkeybird, i hope i will be posting the same in...oooh....16 weeks time!

can i go off on a slight tangent and ask if you luuurrrve your tripp trapp high chair? i want to get one but dh not convinced.

Monkeybird · 16/02/2008 12:56

ohmigod the tripp trapp is fantastic! My 3 year old has it and it's really adjustable, they can sit up at the 'big' table with everyone else and join in, it's good for their back and they can use it until they're, er, adults! And it's much easier to cleam IMHO than those plastic affairs with lots of creases and seams and holes for weetabix to get stuck in! i only wish I'd had one for my oldest child too. it's just a bit of a dilemma at the moment since it really 'belongs' to the 3 year old and should really buy another for the little guy but not got lots of dosh. You don't see many second hand ones on ebay since most people do seem to keep them...

ah well

thanks! i got money as a leaving pressie from work which would just about cover it, but i was worried that i was just being swayed by the fact that it looks nice! haven't seen any 2nd hand either, think that is a good thing!

oh, so sorry, my high chair hijack killed your BF thread.

oysterpots · 18/02/2008 09:58

Caz10 - I love my Tripp Trapp. It actually is mine, or was, from when I was a baby. My mum kept it and it's as good and sturdy as it was 30 (eek) years ago. DS loves it too.

A pretty good investment I reckon.
