on left boob ds sucks away heftily. Suck swallow nice rhythm. On right boob he suck suck suck swallows. Never gulps faster on letdown. Sucks for 20 mins and not happy. On left he'll suck for 10 mins solidly and be happy. He has always fed mostly on one boob every feed since birth. Thing is no probs him feeding off two. Butnow he is refusing the right boob if I offer it first and howling tip the other is fed from. The boobs feel the same am worried about this. I know they have fave boobs but this is not great. I've fed ds1 and dd til 17 mths and been through similar things but this is now prolonged. Any ideas?

Rugby hold on right-hand side so he's lying in same position as for left? My ds did this when he was newborn and we eventually got him to feed from the right breast by dabbing lots of expressed milk on that breast till he latched on, but I'm guessing the same wouldn't apply for an 11mo

I wouldn't worry too much, both my dds have fed from one breast only for several months and I was always able to produce enough milk.
two of my friends have done the same.

All three of mine favoured right breast (as did I!). Even now, ds3 at 16 months, he feeds from both sides but I don't really think he's getting much from the left and my right is much bigger than my left! If you don't mind being wonky, I shouldn't worry about it.

Hello Piffle.
Same here with DS, DD was the same. I think letdown on one side maybe slower than the other. I had lopsided boobs for ages until I finished BF DD, they soon righted themselves.
Are you really concerned or just mildly irritated? I have HAD to use right boob recently due to hole in nipple (infection, sore, agony feeding etc). DS not best pleased, but we muddled through. Is there anything on kellymom??

cannot rugby hold him due to his wriggle and kick tendency. Due to my back and leg and SPD problems I am only able to feed upright in one ikea poang chair. If I can feed off one breast only then that'd be ok.
