How much formula for 3 month old?

I’m sure my baby girl isn’t drinking enough! She’s 3 months and 1 week old and happily sleeps through the night from around 8-8 which obviously I’m very pleased with! But she’ll only take between 3 and 5 oz every three hours or so during the day. This results in her averaging around 22 oz a day which I’m convinced isn’t enough. She’s just not interested in feeding more often. She’s extremely happy, alert and seems to be thriving. I haven’t had her weighed for a few weeks but has anyone else had a baby who drinks so little and been ok? Sorry, FTM here and still worrying about everything! TIA!

That volume would be fine for a breastfed baby, I know they drink more formula but that’s still probably fine. There are volume by babies weight calculators online, what do they v say based on last known weight? I still wouldn’t worry if she’s happy though, hungry babies aren’t often happy.

I agree with the above. It would be very unlikely for a starving baby be happy, thriving and sleeping 12 hours overnight. Formula amounts aren’t a one size fits all.

My first used used to drink about 60% of the recommended daily amount on the formula tin and couldn't get him to feed more.

I spent about two weeks going for weigh ins with the local HV - they had daily clinics then you could just drop by and they checked him more for dehydration as they were concerned he didn't feed enough but he was fine. I dropped down to monthly weigh ins and he held his line (10 percentile.

A kind HV said - there normally isn't more wrong with a happy baby and he was happy.

Go get weighed in and see what they say
