Burping the same as farting?

Just that really my little boy is 5 weeks and he's terrible at bringing up his wind with a burp but he farts ALOT is it the same thing? Ftm mum here and have no idea lol

I feel like it might be as my 8 week old is exactly the same!
Nightmare to burp but will quite easily fart ALOT when over the shoulder.

Yes, if you can't get the burps out then they can get digested with the milk and come out the other end, however this usually takes hours.

Some babies experience this with no problem at all. But others can find it very painful as the air travels through their gut.

You need to get the air out as soon as it goes down. Frequently burp during a feed, feed as upright as you can, bicycle the legs, tummy massage and if needed use gripe water or infacol.
