Is this amount of food for a 6mo ok?

Hi everyone,

my little boy is around 6.5 months old and we’ve just started weaning. For the first week he had one ‘meal’ around 3 baby spoons of a puréed veg I’d made. Now he has dinner and tea (around the same amount for each)

He has between 24-28oz of milk through the day. He usually has a bottle around 7pm before bed and we were waking him at 10pm to give him some more as I’m a worrier - but he’d then refuse his morning bottle even if it had been 10 hours. The last 2 nights we have tested to see if he will drink it without the 10pm feed and he does.

He’s a big boy, around 21lbs and on the 91st percentile so I’m not concerned about his weight.

I guess I’m just asking - is it ok for a 6mo to be night weaned already? I imagine growth spurts etc may cause a change in this but I’m just new to this and haven’t a clue!

Thanks

I think it's fine to be sleeping through the night at 6 months on the 91st percentile. Don't think you need to worry.

I think at 6 months if he has weaned himself, it's fine not to be taking milk overnight.
