Stopping breastfeeding

So DD is 2 in a week and im so over breastfeeding now

Really proud ive done 2 years but how the hell do you stop? She just cries, she will take a cup of cows milk so nighttime feed isnt a problem, its the morning and after naps

In the morning if i sit her down without a feed she just screams, try and give a drink of milk and she doesn't stop screaming untill i give in and breastfeed her,

Is it just a case of letting her cry? I have a school child too so have to do the school run so mornings are stressful as it is

Ill add that 2 days a week i leave the house before she wakes for work and its never a problem then for her dad she just takes the milk 🙄

I've seen some suggestions of putting pickle or something she wouldn't like on the nipple and say 'milk has gone bad' also some people have tried having a bye bye boobie party where the child gets a new comfort, a present or book for now being a grown up baby and not needed boob. I'm still feeding my little one (almost 2) and looking into some ideas as well. Unfortunately if you know they want the boob for comfort more than anything it may be a case of letting them cry while trying to comfort and distract in other way for a few days until they get over it. Hope it works for you no matter what you try x

I just went away for 2days and 2nights and said no when I came back but they weren't really fussed then not like trying to wean down before going away which I found impossible. Felt very guilty about it at the time but they were fine with their dad.

Have a look at Emma Pickett on Instagram she specialised in weaning older children. Some really useful information on there.
