severe reflux 5m old - anyone help!?

My LO has had bad reflux since birth. The sick is CONSTANT - and i mean constant it’s all day long, he feeds at 6am and at 10am he is still throwing up from that bottle and he’s about to have his next one. We were told to wean him early which we have it’s made no difference. He’s been on baby gaviscon, lanzaprozol, omeprozol (sorry they may not be spelt correctly) and nothing helped. He has CMPA so under a paediatrician but they are now seem to be saying well his bowels are under control so we might have to deal with the sick - which is very easy to say if you are not dealing with it. It’s huge amounts!!

Has anyone ever had this with their little ones and had ANYTHING to help??? I’m absolutely so fed up now.

Also to note it doesn’t always seem to bother my little boy, only now and again.

Is he on milk for CMPA? If so which one?

My DD was the similar she also had a heart condition. Would vomit up everything as was off the bottom of the centile chart thingy.

We tried feeding her via an n g tube and pump very slowly from 7am - 11pm and still she vomited so hard the tube came out up to 5 times a day!

Eventually after a lot, I mean really a lot of hasssle I managed to get her a nissens fundopication operation, its basically a stomach wrap that meant she wasn't able to be sick again.

Totally resolved the problems that meds didn't. I think the surgery can be done keyhole now as my DD's was more tricky but it was 15 years ago.

Now a teenager we have other troubles Grinbut I remember those difficult days and I really empathise with you.

Reflux is soooo hard . My LO is 7 months now . He was born on the 9th centile then dropped even below the 0.4th due to reflux . We have worked so hard with him and it has been so stressful but the only thing that seemed to help him was thickening his milk with something called Carobel. He is now back to the 9th centile.

I've had it drilled into me that reflux is a symptom not a diagnosis and you need to find out what the cause is. Check out rockabyehub on Instagram

Oh my gosh I feel for you OP, we had this and it was just terrible. Sick 30 plus times a day, couldn’t change an outfit without new outfit being covered in sick as fast as you could change it, waking up with sick in the mouth, projectile etc. A CMPA was suspected and we went on special formula (not neocate) but frankly I don’t think there was an allergy. We went to see a paediatrician specialist in gastro and he basically said no meds, you have to sit this out and it will pass. Luckily for us it suddenly stopped at about 6-7 months. I don’t know if that will happen to you but it might, relief might be just round the corner!

We had this problem. It suddenly stopped one day when our daughter was nine months old.
