Baby weaning

Hi everyone. My little one is 6 and a half months old and we have been weaning for around 1 month. I have been mainly making purees of fruit and veg and he has also tried weetabix, eggs porridge. I have tried steaming veg to a soft textures and also cutting fruit up to appropriate sizing for him to try to knaw on and feel but he isn't interested at all. He is able to bring teethers to his mouth and is constantly putting his hands in his mouth but he just isn't interested in any food presented to him for baby led weaning . Is it just a case of perseverance? Any others with similar experience ? He is also very small so it scares me to death giving him anything other than purees but I am trying and he just won't try it. TIA

It's still early on. For now if he's happy with puree no need to change it.

Offer finger foods alongside and just let him explore.

It can help if you eat with him so he sees you doing it too.

Weaning is a process just follow their lead

Have you tried putting a little bit of puree on a spoon and putting the spoon in his hand? You could guide him a bit but really just let him get messy.
Just another way to encourage him.

@Scramble1805 Hiiiii , yes I have and he does grab it and bring it to his mouth to be fair. Just won't actually hold anything else in his hand
