Breastfeeding position

My 6 months old baby will only feed in the lying down position. If I try sitting up, he will latch on, then pull away, get frustrated and cry, before even initiating my let down. He started this about 2 months ago. We are mixed feeding and I'm pretty sure he has bottle flow preference. Is there a way to feed upright again? I can't feed him when we go out, i have to give him a bottle as I can't lie down when we're out, but I don't like skipping feeds all the time as I worry about my supply so I'm avoiding going out. Any advice please?

Hiya thanks for replying. He won't latch on unless we're lying down, or if he does it's for a split second and he pulls his head away then unlatches. Have you had the same issue? Had did you get over it?

Have you tried a laid back natural position?

You lean back about 45 degrees (use cushions or the pram to put your feet up) and lie him on your chest.

He gets lots of body contact and can find the nipple himself.

Have a look on the NCT website for videos on how to do this.

Have you tried the rugby ball position? You will need a couch (cafe, dept store)

Stuff him under your arm, legs behind you, head to boob. It's like lying down for him.
