Should I go back to the old bottles?

DD is almost 5 months and was mixed fed until 2 weeks ago when she refused the breast.
I've always used Dr Brown's bottles for her top ups because she had tongue tie (snipped) and the teats were easier for her to take because they are long.

The DB bottles only hold 5oz. The bigger ones are really long and don't fit in the microwave steriliser so on Monday I switched to tommee tippee anti colic bottles as they are wide rather than long and fit in the steriliser. DD was draining the 5oz DB bottles.
However I'm not convinced that the TT bottles suit DD. She seems to be more fussy during feeds (turning her head to the side) and is dribbling milk which she wasn't doing before. I've kept her on size 1 teats which seem to be the same flow as the DB size 1 teats. She's only taking 3-5oz from TT where she was taking 4-5 from DB.
I don't know whether to switch back to DB and buy a bigger steriliser.

DH says there is no difference and I'm overthinking. I will say that I have pnd and I am obsessing over these bottles. If it wasn't the bottles, I would be obsessing over something else.

Do I just need to chill and stick with it?

Hi OP, last weekend we went away and took our old TT bottles with us after using Avent since Christmas. He originally started with TT but I felt he was very windy so we switched after several weeks. He really didn’t get on with TT, refused feeds. Luckily we took 2 avent bottles on the journey and were able to decant the milk into them where he guzzled it down.

IMO there is most certainly a difference. Go with your gut and change back to DB x

If she's only drinking up to 5 oz swap back to the original DB bottles for a couple of days and then you'll have the answer.

As pp says, gut is an instinct we often ignore but go with it.

Oh there's definitely a difference between bottles. Just check the Dr Browns teats don't fit the TT bottles as it would save you changing the entire thing.

Thankyou all. I'm going to switch back. I've given it a week and I just feel that she's more unsettled, not feeding as much and now she's got diarrhoea which is probably coincidence.
DH still thinks I'm overthinking and it's anxiety talking but I can't drop it.

@fairgame84 You did well persevering for a week OP, I only gave it 2 bottles he just wasn’t having it 😂

I’d definitely change back too. I hope it works x

If it wasn't for DH telling me I was overthinking then I would have done the same!
I swapped back yesterday and she slept better last night and has been more settled today. She's still down on her feed totals but we're seeing the health visitor tomorrow anyway.
