Baby is 6m old and EBF and particularly enjoys the right breast, which works considerably harder than the left. My first baby could not latch on the left and was fed exclusively fr the right breast.
Since my second baby was about 3m old I have had random onset of a rock solid, lumpy, veiny and incredibly painful C shaped patch on my right breast. I can feel it coming on but nothing will stop the flare up. It is painful for 12-24hrs, then goes away as quickly as it came, leaving a red patch with a dull ache behind. This improves after a further 12-24hrs.
I had never experienced this prior to a few months ago and can't find the exact symptoms on google, but wondering if anyone has any experience and if this is a recurrent blocked duct? I tend to have 3 or 4 flare ups over a couple of weeks and then nothing for 2 ish months.
Nothing seems to help, e.g heat pads or massage sadly, I just have to let it run its course. I'd just like to know what I'm dealing with! Thank you.
