Breastfeeding - pus

Hi all,

Baby is 6 days old and I've been breastfeeding from birth. I've obviously got cracked/sore nipples but have noticed on one nipple that there's some pus coming out of one of the wounds?

Is that normal? Has it happened to you?

No I wouldn't say that's normal. Pus to me indicates infection so I would get yourself a GP appointment as soon as you can. In my experience cracked and sore nipples is normal at this stage but if it continues to be very painful it would be sensible to get some qualified support to check your baby's latch.
