Breast ache/milk present 4 months after last breastfeed?

Hi there, wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

I breastfed my son for 16 months and only used one breast (the other had recent surgery and produced a small supply so stopped that one after a few weeks he was born.)

It’s been 4 months since I finished and I’m still -

  1. seeing droplets of milk every so often (not much, just enough to dab with my finger)
  2. experiencing a full breast ache which radiates under my arm.

For context, I have a history of fibroadenomas (non cancerous/benign tumours) and had a full ultrasound on both breasts 3 months ago as I found a lump which was another fibroadenoma. No action needed. They also found hormonal breast tissue which is wear I am experiencing the ache. I’m wondering if it’s painful because of the breastfeeding and that I made my one breast work overtime!

It can take months to stop seeing drops, but it seems a long time to have pain. I would suggest seeing a doctor.
