Bottle/feeding advice

Hello everyone,

I am a FTM to an 11 day old girl.

BF did not work for us in hospital so we started on the Aptamil ready made bottles. She got on really well with these but obviously they are not cost effective for everyday feeding!

We first used the the Tommee Tippee bottles but found that loads of milk was running down her chin and soaking her clothes/bib. We have the moved on to the MAM anti colic bottles which don’t cause the dribble problem and are no longer getting through 10 bibs a day.

Over the last two days our daughter has been breaking wind loads and getting hiccups. She’s often restless in her sleep and I don’t know if this is the wind?

Does anyone have any advice please? I did wonder if it’s silent reflux or more of a bottle issue.

Has she been checked for tongue tie? Babies who have tongue tie struggle to latch onto bottles and will leak milk through their mouth whilst drinking. Also because the latch isn’t secure on bottles they will take in more air causing wind and also causing reflux type symptoms

Thank you for your reply. She hasn’t, who would I ask to do that? She was born via ELCS and has been quite a mucus-y baby - we have had to use a nasal extractor on her a few days ago as her nose was so blocked. This also seemed to affect her feeding.
