Hi, we are EBF but am wanting to be able to give a bottle of expressed milk every so often so I can leave him for a few hours eh to get hair cut, go for meal with girls etc. at the moment if I am going out I have to feed him at around 7 so my plans always have to be after 8 so would like for hubby to be able to do a feed so I’m not so tied down when I have plans which is very infrequent at the moment.
at first baby would take bottle ok we are using mam bottles but more recently he just refuses he is 15 weeks. Any bottle recommendations or is it something I just need to accept isn’t going to happen x

Look into paced bottle feeding and feeding with a slow teat, at least initially. Perhaps the pace of the milk from the bottle vs breast is unnerving him?

More you could start wearing nipple shields and get him used to the plastic feel in his mouth?

I used Dr Brown bottles which have a soft teat. Probably similar to MAM.

Patience and relaxed. I used MIL to wean my EBF DS onto bottles at a similar age. She sang to him and walked around cuddling him and eventually managed to get him taking a bottle. Do you have any help?

Yes I have help I think cos it’s only every so often that we were giving him a bottle he has now got a preference cos he was taking it fine until a few weeks ago. Always done paced feeding . Whenever hubby has tried I have made sure that I’m not in the room but he just screams. My mum came round the other day and asked her to try and still the same reaction. Just need to keep trying , will try the walking round idea well will get hubby too and see if that helps

We had a couple of little bottle refusers. They were fine might have cried a little with DH and cups of ebm if I ever wanted to go out.

The Nuk natural rubber ones. Used with a glass bottle.

Tbh, with my bottle refuser I just gave up and accepted that I had to plan things around feeds until she was older.

At 6 months they can have a sippy cup with milk and she would take that.

By 9 months I wasn't feeding over night anymore.

By 10 months she was only feeding 2x a day.

It doesn't last forever.

Yeah I think that may be the case for us but will persevere for a little bit. Knew it was always a chance this might happen when I chose to breastfeed so like you say will just have to plan round him and it’s not forever just a short amount of time x
