Pain in breast after feeds

Hi everyone, one problem after the other at the minute
my baby is 23 days old so 3 weeks ish
i have had nipple soreness here and there but since last night I started getting letdown type of pains but deeper and stronger after feeding. And during feeding I feed so bruised and tender. But can’t see or feel any lumps.

doctor has given me antibiotics “in case it’s mastitis”

this has made me want to stop breastfeeding just because of how hard this is. I can’t keep dealing with the problems related to breastfeeding. I already have a crazy fissure that’s getting me down. And now breastfeeding has become painful. I just want some PEACE

Please help!!!

Sounds like your feeling a bit overwhelmed, which is understandable Flowers

Not sure what it could be. Have you tried one of the BFing Helplines?

Does taking paracetamol take the edge off at all?

@PritiPatelsMaker
tbh paracetamol helped a little bit but not much, I just feel like I can’t deal with another episode of this so I may as well stop now…

Of you want to stop, that's fine, you can still talk through how you feel about stopping and the best way to do it with a BFC on one of the Helplines Flowers

Talking things through with a La leache league counsellor was amazing for me and she continued checking up on me afterwards. They're free and open 365 days a year, this was when I had a specific problem like yourself although in the long run joining a breastfeeding support group has made my journey, having a friend to talk to who's been there be it 3am or midday has meant any little questions were answered before they became problems. That said if your content your journey has come to an end be proud of yourself for providing your child with breastmilk for this long 😁 I would still encourage you to talk to someone from the la leache league to help you and baby stop safely.
