Decongestants and reduced milk supply

I’ve had the flu which is turned into dreadful sinusitis and I’ve been taking cold and flu tablets without checking the ingredients. I hadn’t realised decongestants would affect my milk supply but I have noticed a drop and my baby is frustrated.

I’m still breastfeeding my 14 month old and don’t want to stop, though obviously he is eating food so it’s not too worrying. Does anyone have experience of this and did your supply pick back up? I breastfed my first to 3 so I’d be gutted if this meant we had to stop!

Your supply will be well established by now @70sShmeventies and should come back once you stop the decongestants.

Sorry that you're not feeling unwell Flowers

Yes it should come back quickly as long as you keep trying to feed regularly. Hope you're feeling better soon

Oh thanks both for the reassurance, that’s a relief! I was kicking myself.
