Leaving bf baby for 12 hours

Hi all. DS has just turned 6 months old and is EBF. I'll be returning to work in February, and in preparation for this I have to go on a training course in late January when he'll be 7 months old. The course is all day and at a location around a 1.5 hours drive away, so I'll be leaving at around 7am and won't be home until 7pm.

We have just tried him with a bottle of EBM and he happily took it which is a relief. But I'm worried that he won't when I'm away? How often should I be giving him a bottle between now and the course, just to get him used to them?

We have just started introducing solid food but obviously he's not eating a great deal of it!

Did anyone else leave their BF babies at this age/for this length of time? I'll be leaving him with DH. I'm just quite worried about it, probably unnecessarily. I have left him before and he was fine, but that was only for five hours.

Thanks all

It's not ideal but he'll be part weaned by 7 months. Leave 12oz milk- one Oz for every hour you're gone and tell DH a max of 4oz at a time to emulate a feed.

He'll be fine! He should be on solids and milk by then and get in sone follow on milk if he doesn't take BM just in case. He'll likely create more fuss if you're home and he's given a bottle and he prefers breast food. Don't worry he'll be fine

I've just left my 9mo from 6am to 12am the following due to a day trip, with no problems (save for that I had logistical difficulties expressing in that time so was very over full on my return). However, I tend toward over rather than under supply, he has always taken a bottle no problems and he took to his food straight away at 6mo.
Anyway he just carried on feeding again no problems afterward. hope that helps.
