Breast milk storage question

I’ve just started to pump a small amount of milk so that my partner can help with the night feeds. Yesterday I pumped a small amount and stored it in a bottle in the fridge, DP fed baby this morning but he didn’t drink all the milk so the rest had to be thrown, so I wondered whether I could store all the milk I pump for the day in a breast milk storage bag and then only put half into the bottle for heating and feeding so as not to waste the unused portion? Or do I need to store the milk in portions in the bags?

Breast milk can be stored for up to 6 days in the fridge (6 hours on the side, 6 days in the fridge, 6 months in the freezer is the rule) yes you can just use part of a bag from the fridge in a bottle and use the rest later.

Depending how old your baby is/how settled your supply is, you might want to keep pumping during any bottle feeds dad doesn’t for now so your supply doesn’t reduce
