DD is 9 weeks and we've had a crappy time breastfeeding due to tongue tie, colic, clamping and mastitis.
She's been breastfed both sides then formula top up from week one due to the tongue tie. She's got used to this and refuses to drop the top ups, I've tried everything. She feeds 2-3 hourly and takes 30-60ml top up. Sometimes goes 4 hourly at night.
2 days ago breastfeeding became really painful again just like before the tongue tie was snipped. I'm also lopsided as she prefers to feed from one side so I decided it was probably a good time to stop breastfeeding.
Yesterday I fed her just formula and she was really unsettled. She was feeding 1.5-2 hourly day and night and not sleeping for long inbetween. She was taking 60-120mls each feed, her 3 hourly amount is 90mls based on her weight.
In theory she should have settled well and gone longer so I don't know what's gone wrong.
Is it the formula? She's on cow and gate 1st.
Or is it the general change in feeding?
I've ended up breastfeeding every other feed today but she's only gone 2 hours after a formula feed of 90mls, it's like it's not filling her up.
