Ds is on neocate has been since he was about 8 weeks old he is 6 months in a few days, due to suspected cmpa as on normal milk came out in red blotches, had dry skin on forehead eyebrows and would projectile most bottles up, these symptoms cleared after a week of neocate he's still sick due to reflux which he is on omeprazole for, some days he will drink 4 7oz bottles other days I struggle to get 4 ounces a time down him, he is teething top 2 coming through now, but at night time he will go down ok after bottle then he will wake for another one sometimes 4 hours sometimes 6 but after that bottle once winded and back in cot he just grunts and kicks his legs like he's so uncomfortable, he does seem uncomfortable sometimes wen drinking bottles in the day arching back etc once he gets to that stage he won't drink anymore even after winding, I don't really know what to do is it the milk is there something else wrong I'm on tired momma with a 2 year old to look after as well.

It could be @lilg24. Have you ever tried a different Amino Acid based formula? Is LO under a Paediatric Dietitian?

lilg24 · 04/12/2022 04:33

No just this one, he was referred at about 8 weeks old still yet to receive an appointment

Is he on the correct dosage of Omeprozole ? Has he had any new r

ScoobyBooby · 04/12/2022 04:50

Sorry that was meant to say has he had any new foods ?

PritiPatelsMaker · 04/12/2022 09:03

I'd go back to the GP and ask for the Omeprozole dose to get checked as Scooby suggested and if that doesn't work, try asking for a different formula.

Are you introducing new foods one at a time?

lilg24 · 04/12/2022 17:32

I was thinking about the omeprazole dosage, he was like this before I started introducing new foods, but do introduce one at a time, think I will call the Dr's tomorrow, just hope they don't say we'll he's putting weight on so won't do anything I've been fobbed off so many times I had to fight to get him on the neocate as was fobbed off but my daughter was exactly the same so I just knew, thank you all for your replies.

Neocate is quite thin, so it could be that he needs to be upright for a bit longer after a bottle? You could also ask the GP about the omeprazole dose and about whether they'd recommend a thickener for his milk?

dragonfly16 · 04/12/2022 21:45

Omeprazole dose needs to be increased with weight

lilg24 · 05/12/2022 10:30

He's defiantly heavier than wen he started it, I have thought about carobel for his milk I will speak to gp and see what they say thanks
