Baby 9 week feeds - Is it enough?

My baby boy was 9 weeks on Wednesday and it bottle fed. Most feeds I am lucky if he gets 3 oz and generally and i’m lucky if i get 7-8oz in him in a day. He’s feeds then refuses any more but still showing hunger signals. Should i be concerned? GP and HV don’t seem to be at the moment but my gut is telling me it isn’t enough.

Worth mentioning he has recently been diagnosed with CPMA and is on the disgusting Althera milk

My DD is 10 weeks this week and she is still only having 2 / 3 oz at a time, although she does feed frequently throughout the day so I'd say she's getting at least 15oz a day if not more.

If your GP and HV aren't concerned and their weight gain is normal I wouldn't worry to much.

So 7 floz in 24 hours?

Kkcallaghan · 04/12/2022 23:52

i would say averaging about 20/25oz 24 hour period. Although today he has only had 10 and yesterday 17 but putting that down to him having his 8 week jabs on Friday

That's ok Wink

If he's having less than 20 floz in a day he does need a vitamin supplement on those days.

Will he drink more if you give him Calpol?
