Can I take Beechams All In One while breastfeeding?

Just that tbh. I have a really bad cold and a 5 week old who I’m breastfeeding. Can I take beechams all in one? Will it affect baby or my milk supply?

I don’t think you can as it contains a decongestant which I think decreases supply. You can take paracetamol and ibuprofen, use Vicks vapour rub (on your back if your feeding not your front), olbus oil, strepsils, honey and lemon. Not sure about lemsips though.
I’m really ill atm and my dad said they work a treat but I’m still feeding a two year old so I can’t take them

I think it's something you need to check with a pharmacist. I remember being ill not long after having my son I went to the pharmacist and she went through all the things I could take. There were certain things to avoid but I can't remember them now. I would go to a pharmacy tomorrow.

Decongestant is a no.

Sorry.

Have a look at this page: www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk/cold-remedies/

generally though anything that contains a decongestant can negatively impact milk supply.

This site is run by a pharmacist and breastfeeding supporter and is amazing for this sort of question.
