Hi all - looking for some advice.

DD is 3 weeks on Monday.

My milk took a while to come in and initially she lost weight but she’s back up to over birth weight now and does feed well.

However - over the course of the day - say 2/3 feeds not every single one - it’s like she isn’t satisfied with breast milk alone. So last night she woke for a feed. Fed for about an hour - roughly 25 mins on each boob so I was empty but she then became really fussy after and was giving me feeding cues so I gave her a small bottle of formula and that seemed to do the trick and she was ready to settle.

Is this just her flow? Or should I not be adding formula. I’m glad she’ll take a bottle as well as breast but I don’t know if I’m doing this right.

Any advice/thoughts are welcome.

Thanks xx

Sounds like pretty normal for a 3 week old and she could just be trying to increase the amount of milk that you make.

Have you tried putting her back on the first breast again if she seems to want more?
