baby hates formula!

just a quicky.DS 7.5 months eats well and was exclusivly bf to 6 months. he bolks on anything with formila milk in like porridge but loves it made with cows milk. he wont drink formula either. what is the main reason for not giving cows milk?

You can give cows milk in food, it just can't be given as a main drink (ie replacing all the ff/bfs) because it''s not nutritious enough.

Does he need to drink f or are you stil bfing?

still bf. just offer him it now and then. as he eats 3 huge meals a day not so worried he isnt getting nutrients, couldnt remember about allergy risk.

There's iron in formula and cow's milk prevents the absorption of iron in the body - very impt for little ones

so if the alternative is no breakfast or just fruit is it ok for milk in his porridge? will continue to bf on demand between meals

My hv discussed weaning with me last week and she said it's fine to put cow's milk in breakfast cereals and rice after 6 months so porridge is ok. You just can't give them cow's milk as a drink until after a year.
