Have a manual pump - but would like an electric one - what have you found the best - have been looking at an ameda dual lactaline or a medula swing - any suggestions?

I have the Ameda Lactaline, and it is fantastic - reasonably quiet, fast, you can get extra pump sets, and seems v reliable. I got mine second hand on Ebay, used it 5 days a week, for up to 3 times, for 9 months, and have carted it to the US several times, and on lots of planes. And it still works.

Medela Swing is fab. If you're thinking of pumping at work or similar, they do a double electric pump too. Medela is the brand you'll usually find in hospitals, but they have products for the retail market too.

DH reads a lot of medical research and they're considered to be at the forefront of vacuum technology.

I started with a Medela mini electric which was fab but very very noisy. I have since bought a Medela swing which is even better than the Mini Electric, I get so much more milk using the Swing than the Mini.

thanks everyone - had to laugh at the idea of researching vacuum technology. Think I might go for the swing - I did have a mini a few years ago and I found it v noisy so good to hear the swing is quieter.

I love my swing - much more efficient than a manual pump or the mini electric & quiet too.

Just got my swing (2nd hand - eBay) last week - brilliant, really comfy and efficient.
