Sorry, these are probably silly questions but I'm just not sure what I'm doing!
DD2 is 6.5 months and I'll be going back to work in Jan when she's just shy if 8 months. For the first 6 weeks I'll be doing 3 day weeks to use up some annual leave, then she'll be in nursery full time.
She's currently exclusively breastfed but I'm thinking I might move her on to some formula feeds so I don't have to express once I'm back at work. With DD1 I never used formula because I went back to work during the first lockdown so she was at home so I didn't need to express, and by the time the nurseries opened she was 1 so I just didn't do breast milk or formula during the day.
I'm a bit clueless about how to make the switch though, especially since I do seem to be a bit prone to blocked ducts and mastitis (had it twice with DD1) so obviously want to be careful about how I reduce the breastfeeds. What's the best way to do this? I can do it as gradually as necessary as I'm not back at work for 6 weeks and once back I'm still happy to feed morning evening and night so it's just the day feeds I want to cut out. Is that possible, or is it better to switch over completely? Will she even take a bottle from me during the day, or will she just want to be breastfed?
Also, does it matter which formula I pick? I mean, is there a chance she just won't like the taste of one and I'll need to use another, or should I just persevere with whichever one I choose? I know nutritionally they're all the same, but do they taste different?
