Baby refusing calpol

Looking for some tips/advice as 9 week old (today) DD is refusing calpol, she's really violently spitting it out and then gagging on it and crying which is really upsetting for both of us. I've been using the syringe and tried aiming it slowly a little at a time at both inside her cheek and right at the back of her mouth but neither method works. Also tried holding her chin to keep mouth closed but she won't swallow just waits to spit it out.

She's EBF, has had a few bottles of expressed with varying levels of success, takes it like a champ one day then spits it all out/turns her nose up the next and also refuses a dummy.
She does accept infacol though without a fuss just squirting the dropper in her mouth 🤷🏼‍♀️

Tried the calpol tonight cause she's just a bit under the weather from her jabs this week, so I guess it's not the end of the world she's not taken it but I'm worried now she won't take it when/if she's really properly poorly :(

Sometimes using a safe, plastic spoon works. Might be worth a try.

You’re able to put the dose of calpol in her water so she can get it that way

Mine wouldn't really take it at that age either. Now he loves having it when he's Ill.

For us it seemed to improve when he could take it from a spoon rather than a syringe.

Have you tried that method where you put the syringe behind a bottle teat and squirt it in that way?

I would just squeeze it slowly above their mouth when BF so it drips on to your nipple and they drink it that way

A 9 week old shoudnt be drinking water fyi
