4 month old constant ‘sharting’!

Please help, I’m at wits end!
4 month old DS has been a once/twice a day max guy for a long time. EBF, not changed my diet and never had this issue before. The last 4/5 days he has been constantly doing wet farts, often when feeding or just after and even in middle of night. I’m now changing him around 10 times in 24 hours and his poor bum is getting so sore! The poo is normal yellow in colour with little bits in (had one green one a couple nights ago but normal since then). No bad smell, weeing fine and well in himself. Any ideas what’s going on? Teething maybe? I can’t see what a GP will do but can speak to them if need to.

I would guess teeth are trying to come in - they can make for some pretty horrific nappies and sore bottoms! Poor bub! I'd mention it to your health visitor if you're due to see them again in the near future.

Not sure what the cause is but it might be worth putting a decent dollop of Vaseline or nappy cream on his bum every hour so the shart never gets actual contact with his poor skin. Hopefully it will resolve itself!

Thank you for replies. I did wonder if Vaseline might help too, will give that a go. Can’t feel any teeth in guns but does dribble loads and chews his toys.
