Terrified of weaning!

My baby is 6.5m old and had been fed mainly purees for 4 weeks.
I am now keen to move him onto more solid food but it feels so scary!
I’ve tried a big chunk of banana in the skin and some avocado slices and also porridge (thick so he can grab)
can anyone offer any advice on what to
give next for a very nervous mum!
or any success stories ?!

thank you!

My best advice is to watch a video on what to do if they choke, and read up on the difference between gagging and choking.

The foods to avoid are here and everything else is up for grabs, literally.

So some things to try are grated cheese, halved grapes or cherry tomatoes, a hard boiled egg which has been quartered, cheese on toast and if you fancy having a nice breakfast tomorrow blueberry pancakes are always popular here, however old you are Wink

Oh and head on over to the Weaning Section. It's under "Feed the World" Halloween Smile
