Is this a bit encouraging?
Not sure about the 'optional extras' slant of 'breastfeeding provides many proven benefits for babies', though. Or am I reading too much into this?

The thing that's "wrong" about the quote you've given is that it assumes formula is the norm. Breastfeeding doesn't provide benefits, not breastfeeding causes negatives. Sort of

Yes, Soupy, wholeheartedly agree with that sentiment. No such thing as a "benefit of breastfeeding" if you ask me. Just a disadvantage of doing otherwise.

It is an interesting article though, seemingly counteracting the latest suggestion that it actually doesn't reduce allergies. More research needed I guess, although why we need research to tell us it's a good thing is beyond me

I like the "see also's": bf isn't linked to IQ in babies.. oops, yes it is..! Can't wait for next month's "finding". This really is an area where there seems to be so little reliable research.
