Don't want to be in public - formula or ebm?

DD is only 9 days old at the moment and we haven't been out yet except to medical appointments.
I really don't want to breastfeed in public, I just don't feel comfortable about it. DD will take bottles as she's had top ups.

What's the best thing to do? I was thinking to give formula when out.
She drains my breasts at feeds so there is nothing to pump at the end of a feed to get a stash of ebm.
Should I pump the missed feed when I get home?

Have you had posterior tongue tie looked at. My DS was exactly as you describe. Midwives doctors missed it but eventually we went to a lactation expert paed who dealt with it in minutes.

The paediatrician checked for tongue tie on the NIPE then the following day an infant feeding specialist midwife checked and both said there is no tongue tie. The feeding specialist said that DD has a small mouth and a short tongue. She said latch would improve as DD grows, she's only 2.9kg.

OP I've pumped milk in restaurants and cafes (both sides at the same time!) and survived! Honestly stuff what anyone thinks, your baby is what matters most. Take an extra large muslin to drape over the side you're feeding from and turn your body away, the more you do it the less you'll care.

Been there OP.
do what you’re comfortable with. Feed before you go? Take forumla etc with you. If she needs it; then great you’ve got it. If not then BF in car before heading home or once you get home. Any excess then pump.
Its fab you’re doing especially the first stages. But try not to stress, think long term, how you’d like to go about it. Would you like to try feed in public / use covers etc. Or does FF in public take any stress away. Fed is best and I’m sure you’re doing a great job x

Do you know, I misread the opening post as you not wanting to feed either bf or ff when out. God, just take bottles!!
