Breastfeeding - Can the Pill Jump-start your Real Period?

Has anyone had experience of this?

Background - even though my period hadn't returned, I went back on the pill to try and manage my moods (my doctor's idea but a terrible one!). I took two packets back to back as I thought taking a break would make my moods/hormones fluctuate even more. Anyway, half way through the second pack I decided to stop taking it as I could see no benefit or difference in my moods. As expected, my "period" came back after a few days of not taking the pill.

That was about a month ago and now I've started bleeding again. Seems like a coincidence it's came back a month after my first withdrawal bleed, is this my real period? Could the pill have jump started things again?! I'm not disappointed, in fact I'm delighted as we'd like to TTC again but I didn't want to stop breastfeeding! But I don't want to get my hopes up.

Anyone been in a similar situation? I'm 15 months postpartum BTW.
