Help -- dont get letdown with expressing -- have I tried everything??

I am trying to express milk with a good electric pump. Milk supply seems to be good (baby growing fine), but I am just unable to get any reasonable amounts pumped. tried it at home with baby in front of me, baby sucking on other breast and pumping the same breast baby sucked on. I get two good gushes and then it stops completely. If I detach and reattach it I again get two good gushes and then it stops (would take ages to express at that rate, though). dont have leaky breast in general. Is there anything left I can try or do have to use formula when I will return to work (really dont want to)?? Thank you!

Mazzletov. Following any routine is not good for establishing a good milk supply, in particular 'Gina Ford' ideas have been linked to poor milk supply.

If you can possible do it, it is so much better for your milk supply to feed your baby on demand.

Yes, babies want to suck all the time and as your baby is so much better at stimulating your milk supply than a pump, feeding your baby direct is the best thing for your milk supply.

Not feeling letdown is fine as long as the baby is gaining weight and having plenty of wet and dirty nappies.

Just feed, feed, feed. Whenever your baby asks and your milk supply will expand to match your baby's needs.

Re Expressing I would pump off one side whilst my DD nursed off the other and then swap baby and pump over. I found first time in the morning seemed to work best for me.
