Hi, lo is 6 months old, breastfeed except for dream feed in a bottle given by her Dad. We're using NO 2 Avent teats but not sure if we should move on to No 3 medium flow or variable flow??? SHould we be moving on with a view to starting to introduce a spouted cup?

There doesn't appear to be any info on the teats really about when you should use them except a 3 month plus label.

Wont be dream feeding for much longer anyway as just started solids so if we need to use another teat we should get going!

I wondered this, but I think the avent teats say the slow flow ones (1 and 2) should be used for bf babies of any age.
I wouldn't bother, unless you feel your LO is frustrated by slow flow - it can't hurt to try if you do. I don't think it is any better to help introduce a cup iyswim.

Thanks Stealth, that's interesting about the teats for breastfed babies. She doesnt seem to be frustrated at all (although I'm usually asleep during dream feed so perhaps I ought to check with hubby!!).

Lack of info on Avent site I think.

As you said in your OP, maybe just start to introduce a cup anyway , I think we did from about 6 months.

DS had to move on to faster flow that no2 at about 9 months (had EBM at nursery) as he was getting stroppy with the bottle.
If you are dropping this bottle anyway, don't worry about it. Drinking from a cup is a different concept anyway, so it doesn't help.
DS was much more interested from drinking from an open cup than a spouted one, and refused to use the first ones. Easiest just to offer your glass of water to them too.

Yes DS hates spouted cups (apart from the tommee tippee 98p ones with the 'open' spouts) and prefers to drink from an open cup. The others are too much like hard work!
