Hi.. Looking for some advice on how to encourage 7 month old to take full feeds or just general advice if baby seems uninterested in milk.
Currently it's taking me multiple attempts to get my baby to take 5oz bottles. Sometimes i leave it for 10 mins and shell happily take a further 2oz sometimes she wont and spit out the milk or push bottle away!
Baby has just dropped night feeds (1 dreamfeed) and i really dont want her to start needing fed at night if i only give her 2oz 4 times a day! Shes doing well with solids but i dont think its that shes not hungry because she's the same with her morning bottle and must be hungry as she wolfs ger porridge down.

Just keep at it @Sarahdaydreamer1234

BF babies take roughly 25floz in 24 hours so taking 2floz is perfectly normal. She just hasn't had to drink the ever increasing amounts that a FF would have had to drink.

Make sure you offer a daily vitamin and you can always add in a feed in the day?

Breastfed babies are used to small feeds, mine never drank more than 3 or 4 oz of milk in one go well after weaning.

Don't push her to take big feeds when she doesn't want to, it will make her stomach uncomfortable.

At this age they need about 17oz of milk a day - so you could give 2oz when she wakes, 3oz in her porridge or cereal, 2oz mid morning, 2oz with her lunch, 2oz before her nap, 2oz with her dinner, 2oz before bed, and another 2oz in her food.

Oh thanks all! Its making me wish id stuck to breastfeeding a bit longer i think i will just up her bottles so shes having little and often as suggested as i dont want to make her to feel uncomfortable!
@Connie2468 that's great to know its around 17oz ive seen loads of sites saying 24-32 which seems mad when shes doing well with her solids! Did you just offer lots of bottles then when you weaned your babies? Shes only just stoopped her night feeds too so hoping she doesn't start waking for a feed if she doesn't get much milk in during the day!

@PritiPatelsMaker would a vitiman be if she didnt take the 17oz or should i just give one anyway? Do you find BFd babies take more the more they get used to formula? s
Sometimes shell take 7oz at bedtime when shes tired I think she finds the bottle boring lol

The current advice in the U.K. is to give a daily vitamin after 6 months if you're BFing or if the formula dips below 20floz a day.

No BF baby is going to be taking 39 floz a day a 7 months, please don't worry about that. By the time she's 10 months she'll only need 13.5 floz.

And yes, they san take more sometimes Wink
